We are not sure why there are bears on the flag. No one in the class has ever seen one in Missouri. Ward had to travel to California to see one, and Alex saw one in Wyoming. Mr. Fitz saw one on the side of a highway in Wisconsin.
Some students report that we do have bears in Missouri down in the Ozark Mountain region.
